Helpful hints for a successful 3D body mapping session

February 10, 2017 by Customer Support Team

We want you to have the best experience possible in our pods so we’ve compiled a few hints to help you get a successful 3D body mapping session.

Give yourself a moment. It can seem a lot to take in on your first 3D Body map, but you’ll reap the benefits.

It’s time to meet you

First things first, locate an mPod close to you. Be sure to select one that you can visit for a mapping session at least once a month.

Your body weight and waist size can change quite radically through the course of a day from the food you eat and the fluid you drink. A regular 3D Body map session at the same time of day can help to alleviate these natural fluctuations in your body and provide you with accurate body measurements. This allows you to see and review changes in your body over time.

It’s as easy as 1,2…3D

Once in the mPod you are greeted with easy to understand audio visual prompts that guide you through the necessary steps to attain your body measurements and health indexes. The whole 3D body map process takes just a few minutes. During this time, you can also set up your mPort account which enables web and mobile access to the mPort platform.

Just you please

The mPod is built to provide safety, comfort and measurement accuracy for one person only. Please ensure you are the only person in the pod because the technology relies on a clear field of view to capture your whole body accurately. If you have a friend in the pod with you, don’t be surprised if your mapping session fails or the results look strange. The pod is not a toy and should only be used by people aged 13 years or older.

Our infrared sensors are designed to not see through clothes. To ensure accurate measurements please remove your clothes, but leave your under garments on. During the 3D Body map process you’ll be asked to remove your outer clothing and stay in your tight undergarments. This enables the mPod to capture your body shape and measurements accurately. Don’t worry, the mPod is designed to ensure that the entire process is convenient, safe and secure.

Removing clothing

Your belongings

Please store your personal belongings in the hooks and compartments provided. Remove your shoes and tuck them below the seat. Make sure there is nothing on the floor that can interfere with the mapping. If something appears inside the mapping area it can cause your session to fail or become corrupted. Just don’t forget to take them with you when you leave!

Store your belongings

Please stand in the middle of the floor and align the centers of your feet as indicated by the markers. During the mapping session stand upright, look straight ahead and keep still. This ensures we capture your measurements accurately.

Stand upright

Hand position

Place your arms by your side so that your knuckles touch the pads and then keep your hands still during the scan. The infrared sensors need to capture your torso and arms accurately, otherwise your measurements and avatar will be wrong.

Touch the pads

If you have long hair, please do not tie it on top of your head as this will interfere with your height measurement. Tie it in a low bun using the hair ties provided. The back of your neck needs to be visible. Hair interference can also affect your 3D avatar model.
